Working the social together
Over the past few years, I have delved into certain practice areas: Mental Health and Trauma, Sexual and Gender Diversity Issues, and Violence and Harassment
Mental Health and Trauma
I developed my skills in mental health intervention in the health and social and community services network! I understand how we can get lost, especially when our loved one or ourselves are in great distress. I can accompany you whether you have a diagnosed disorder or not. I always use a trauma-informed approach in my consultations.
Examples of situations:
-You need support right now and you are waiting for your turn on a CLSC waiting list because your situation is not assessed as 'urgent'. You would prefer to have access to services as soon as possible.
-Your loved one must adapt to a mental health problem. He finally found help. On the other hand, you feel that your own health is affected by this situation; you need support.
Issues of sexual and gender diversity
I take a trans-affirmative approach, including non-binary people.
Knowing that this information may be important to some people, please note that I myself am part of sexual and gender diversity.
Examples of situations:
- Need for support in a transition and a professional certificate (e.g. letters for gender affirming processus)
-A loved one reveals to you that they wonder about their sexual orientation or gender identity. You want to support your loved one, but you feel "lost" in this situation.
Violence and harassment
Interpersonal and systemic violence have great impacts on victims | survivors and their loved ones. I provide a safe space to support you, whether it's a recent event or not. I can also accompany you in the different steps you wish to take in the face of situations of injustice.
Examples of situations:
- You are involved in a relationship with someone and you wonder if it is healthy.
-You have experienced a situation of violence and you feel affected. You don't know where to start in your recovery process.
